This outdoor scene was shot in a very isolated location in northern California. The several hundred acres surrounding the cell block is a rough untamed wilderness. It is the kind of place where you could bury things, if you know what I mean. The heavy shackles and cage are sort of if you are simply keeping a prisoner. The building has securing ring where a simple chain and leg iron would be enough. Who would do that if you have a cage? It was brisk enough to require a jacket so the prisoner was shivering within a few minutes. Our prisoner was in bondage heaven because he so enjoys a prisoner control situation. The shackles, official orange jump suit, and weeklong beard growth helped create the perfect atmosphere. The jail cell was occupied all weekend and I can imagine this prisoner will be back for a much longer stay.
